Ilkeston is a town located within Derbyshire and lies on the river Erewash with a population of 39,000. The town is in close proximity to both Derby and Nottingham and borders Nottinghamshire. Ilkeston is surrounded by historical buildings and old stories to go with them and has many of its own stories to tell too. The most important local employers were the Stanton Ironworks which were later known as Stanton & Staveley.
